After the opening at the historic Old Parliament, and the keynote by ex- Prime Minister George Papandreou, the whole experience was centered on leadership and vision. Moving with music through Plaka to the Benizelos Mansion, which was decorated as a nostalgic “grandmother’s meal”, revealed the only program instruction for the week: Trust The Process.
The journey continued to Spetses island, and despite weather challenges, transformed into an enriching exploration with stops at the Corinth Canal and Ancient Epidaurus. Our team moved fast to make all rearrangements before the guests wake up. Salling on the Bounty boat completed the passage to the island, where traditional hospitality and a seafood dinner introduced guests to the soul of Spetses.
The island was all about balance and immersion. Yoga by the pool, deep sessions, and a quad-bike through the narrow streets of the town were some of the ways the group brought energy and unity into their midst. At the traditional boatyard, the delegates got to see the making of wooden ships and later at a farm to table dinner in a Greek vegetable garden; while engaging in syrtaki dancing, they experienced the purest form of happiness and joy.
Participation in a silent meeting deep in the forest, and only accompanied by the sounds of the sea, were amongst the moments in the program that offered space for the reflection and personal breakthroughs. The gala event held at the hotel’s ballroom served as the emotional crescendo-tearful speeches, traditional dancing, and a feeling of collective achievement.
Before going back to Athens, the delegates held their final warm-up and farewell circle and were laden not only with souvenirs but also with a profound sense of their connection to themselves, to each other and to Greece.
